Role overview: As part of Corporate Communications within Corporate Affairs, you will shape and protect Kingfisher’s external reputation, lead strategic campaigns, manage earned media, speaking opportunities and digital channels, deliver key financial communications, and proactively manage reputational risk.
Responsibilities
* Lead delivery of impactful communications campaigns across earned media, social media and digital channels, telling the ‘Powered by Kingfisher’ story and supporting our employer brand and Responsible Business agenda.
* Deliver best‑in‑class financial communications around key milestones, drafting materials and advising senior stakeholders alongside the Head of External Communications.
* Oversee the Kingfisher press office, manage media enquiries and build relationships with key journalists.
* Design and deliver a conference speaking programme for key spokespeople, briefing and advising them to maximise impact.
* Lead the external communications team on the Annual Report, supporting drafting of the Strategic Report.
* Support communications plans and positioning for the Group Executive and leadership team, including the CEO.
* Support the network of external communications teams across the Group and identify collaboration opportunities.
* Develop issues‑management strategies, reactive statements and identify emerging reputational risks.
* Act as a business partner providing counsel and support on PR and corporate social media to key business functions.
Qualifications
* Experience in corporate communications within a large, listed business or agency working with UK‑listed companies; media relations experience is vital.
* Ability to develop and drive multichannel corporate communications campaigns to land messages with key audiences; experience creating engaging social media content desirable.
* Experience communicating financial calendar moments for a listed company.
* Strong relationship‑building skills internally and externally, including with agency partners.
* Clear understanding of media agendas and ability to create resonant stories; political knowledge desirable.
* Strategic thinker with the ability to balance strategy and tactics.
* Experience in issues and crisis management.
* Confidence representing the business externally at events, conferences and meetings.
