We are looking for a Health Care Support Worker to join our friendly team of Occupational Therapists based within Perth Royal Infirmary.
You will provide a supportive role to your Occupational Therapy colleagues working within the Outpatient Service in the Rehabilitation Unit at PRI. You will be part of supportive, specialist service covering three clinical areas: Hand Therapy, Rheumatology and Neurology/Stroke and acquired brain injury. However, as with all posts, you may be required to work elsewhere depending on service requirements.
Your role will include assisting with the day to day running of the Outpatient Service undertaking some administrative and housekeeping duties including; infection control, monitoring and ordering of stock, collating and reporting patient statistics as well as working with patients providing them with assessment and rehabilitation. This role will require you to be a good communicator to both patients and staff both in person and on the telephone. You must be possess excellent IT skills.
You must have an understanding of the role of Occupational Therapy and have experience of working in a health or social care setting.
Education to SVQ level IV or equivalent would be advantageous and as a support worker.
You will be required to comply with the Code of Conduct for Healthcare Support Workers in Scotland throughout your employment. Information on the Healthcare Support Worker Regulations can be found on NHS Tayside microsite on Staffnet>Our Websites>Healthcare Support Workers.
Perth and Kinross Occupational Therapy Service is committed to continued personal development through our clinical networks and are structured system of competencies/training and review is in place for support staff.
