About the role: We are looking for four Health & Safety Advisors to join us at Hinkley Point C to promote and maintain the highest standards of health and safety.
The Opportunity
At Hinkley Point C (HPC) we are building two new nuclear reactors to provide low carbon electricity for around six million homes.
The Health and Safety Advisor will work as part of a team providing advice and support to the HPC CDM Client and Principal Contractor management teams. You will undertake a range of safety programme activities including day-to-day technical advice on health and safety matters and risk-based monitoring to contribute toward EDF Energy’s goal of zero harm.
Pay, Benefits & Culture
Salary is circa £66,000 per annum, depending on experience. These Night Health & Safety Advisor positions qualify for the Temporary Working Shift Allowance for night shift work, currently £14,000 per annum.

What you’ll be doing
The Health and Safety Advisor will undertake planned activities to establish, promote, maintain and improve HPC CDM Client and Principal Contractor management arrangements; promote NNB Genco standards; and monitor health and safety performance through risk-based inspections and audits. You will maintain relationships with internal and external stakeholders, disseminate safety information, and influence safety attitudes and behaviours.
You will be assigned to support one of the NNB core Multi-Disciplinary Teams (MDT), providing advice on H&S issues and risks and ensuring duties of the NNB Client and Principal Contractor are fulfilled. You will report to the HPC Lead Health and Safety Advisor and the MDT Senior Construction Delivery Lead.
Who you are
Significant HSE experience within a large project setting. Excellent communication skills to build networks within EDF and the construction industry. Forward-looking with the ability to identify risks and implications. Tech IOSH or equivalent and NEBOSH HSE Diploma or European equivalent. Strong ability to analyse technical information and identify underlying issues and risks. Good knowledge of large organisational, process plant and site operations, and knowledge of national and international HSE standards and CDM Regulations. Proven track record of achieving excellent safety results on major engineering and construction projects.
