About the job :

As a Customer Sales Advisor, you will confidently and impartially sell the full range of tickets and services, including processing high volumes of sales, and ensure that customer requirements are met and exceeded.

Your main responsibilities will be:

1. Providing the highest level of customer service and being proactive to customer needs
2. Accurately and impartially selling the full range of products and services to our customers in a friendly, professional and efficient manner
3. Maximising opportunities for increased sales at ticket offices by adopting selling techniques and offering enhanced products to customers
4. To Provide assistant to our vulnerable and disable passengers, providing reasonable adjustments and help to allow them to travel.
5. Carrying out routine maintenance and cleaning of ticket machines and IT equipment
6. Accurately completing all accountancy and other associated documentation
7. Maintaining TVMs at the station

You'll need to be:

8. Able to deliver exceptional front-line customer service
9. Able to understand customer requirements and expectations
10. A Self-starter with a can-do attitude
11. Confident when decision making
12. Able to remain calm yet directive in a crisis
13. Able to work to strict procedures

As a minimum, you will need to have:

14. The ability to work as part of a team or independently
15. Evidence of numerical ability
16. Attention to detail
17. Strong verbal and written communication skills
18. Customer Service Experience

Working pattern

This role will require you to work a variety of shifts which will include early starts and late finishes as well as weekends and bank holiday working. The shifts are: 05:45 – 21:45. Your starting and finishing times may be at times when public transport is not available, so you must be able to get to and from the station without relying on this.

Additional information

This role is for one year secondment and requires shift working including weekends and bank holidays.

Applicants successfully short listed will be invited to a competency based interview which will either take place w/c 5th January 2026.
