Salary: £50,100 - £75,100 + car/car allowance, performance-related bonus, and a range of benefits supporting your finances, wellbeing, and family.

The role
As part of SSEN Transmissions Offshore Portfolio, we have an opportunity for a Structural/Civil OHL Engineer to join our Offshore AC Project Engineering team. You will help drive our Island projects and deliver a network for Net Zero, including connection to HVDC systems, AC plant, grid control, and stabilization technology.
You will
1. Prepare and review designs through development and execution phases, including route selection, substation tie-ins, and diagrams.
2. Promote best practices in OHL design and installation by suggesting improvements and managing engineering risks.
3. Manage safety within your projects through CDM procedures, ensuring compliance with regulations.
4. Ensure engineering delivery for projects typically valued between £50m to £100m, working closely with project managers to identify and mitigate risks.
You have
1. Experience working on the transmission network, especially in overhead line development, design, and specifications, with the ability to assess technical issues and solutions.
2. Good understanding of relevant legislation (CDM & ESQCR) and its implications for transmission network management.
3. Effective communication skills to convey complex technical issues clearly to senior management.
4. Ability to build strong relationships with internal and external stakeholders.
5. Degree in Mechanical, Civil, or relevant engineering discipline; Chartered Engineer status or working towards it is preferred.
