What You'll Be Doing
As Kitchen Manager, you'll be the heart of our kitchen team, leading a small, friendly group to deliver excellent food service. You’ll be hands-on, managing the kitchen day-to-day while supporting the Hostel Manager with:
* Running our food & beverage operations smoothly
* Preparing and serving food to YHA’s high standards
* Ensuring cleanliness and compliance across the service area
* Managing stock and minimising waste
* Maximising profitability while keeping team morale high
* Supporting the hostel’s budget and performance goals
Who We’re Looking For
We’re after a motivated, experienced hospitality leader with:
* Knowledge of food safety, allergens, and kitchen operations
* A proven track record in managing teams and delivering quality service
* Experience in stock control, profit margins, and customer satisfaction
* Qualifications such as NVQ Level 4, City & Guilds 706/1&2 or equivalent
* Basic Microsoft Office skills for day-to-day operations
* A genuine passion for making guests feel welcome - and an understanding of YHA’s charitable mission
