Join to apply for the Community Podiatrist role at Sirona care & health.
Are you a dynamic and talented podiatrist ready to enhance your skills and experience of podiatry within the NHS? Do you want to live in the thriving multicultural Southwest with easy access to the countryside, city, and sea? If so, we are looking for a highly motivated and enthusiastic podiatrist to join our team. We welcome applications from Podiatry students graduating in 2025! This post is eligible for a relocation package! You will be joining a supportive and friendly team based in Bristol, North Somerset and South Gloucestershire with a proven track record of internal career promotion to senior roles.
You will be supported to work as an autonomous practitioner managing a varied patient caseload consisting of high risk, diabetes, wound care and biomechanics. Care is delivered in a variety of settings including community clinics/GP practices, care/nursing homes and people’s homes. We provide a supportive working environment through induction and mentorship; you will also work alongside experienced podiatrists and be encouraged in your professional development, having regular access to 1:1’s with your line manager and clinical supervision. We are committed to promoting evidence‑based practice and delivering a high standard of care throughout the service. Our aim is to enable people to live longer and healthier lives and to access care and support close to where they live.
Responsibilities
 * Provide high‑standard podiatric care to maintain tissue viability, mobility and independence for patients that are high risk or have an acute foot infection, including assessment, diagnosis and development of appropriate care plans.
 * Plan and manage your own caseload with support and guidance from senior colleagues, covering specialist care for patients with diabetes, rheumatoid and biomechanical problems, and acute and chronic neuropathies, vascular, tissue viability and wound management.
 * Assess new and existing patients, using clinical judgement to ensure patients meet access criteria and appropriately signpost to alternative providers when required, referring to mentor or senior podiatrist for support when appropriate.
 * Screen high‑risk patients for neurological and vascular assessment, monitoring condition and degree of risk to foot health.
 * Undertake domiciliary visits across the region.
 * Refer complex cases to senior colleagues or other departments and discharge patients where appropriate as per referral pathways and guidelines.
 * Effectively communicate by involving and informing patients and carers of their care plan and its progress, overcoming potential communication barriers.
 * Provide foot health education and advice to patients, relatives and carers in one‑to‑one and group sessions.
