Position Overview
Queens Community House (QCH) seeks a skilled Fleet Manager to oversee and maintain a fleet of approximately 20 vehicles, including passenger buses and delivery vans, supporting programs across multiple locations. The Fleet Manager will ensure safe, reliable, and compliant transportation operations by managing vehicle maintenance, driver compliance, transportation scheduling, and vendor relationships. This role collaborates closely with internal departments, supports logistical needs, and ensures compliance with DOT and safety regulations.
Key Responsibilities
Fleet Operations Management
* Oversee day-to-day fleet operations, including vehicle dispatch, usage scheduling, safety inspections, and incident response.
* Manage preventive maintenance, repairs, and vendor services to reduce vehicle downtime and extend asset life.
* Ensure full compliance with DOT (Department of Transportation), AOSPP (Agency Annual On-Street Permit), and other regulatory requirements; maintain insurance and accident claim documentation.
* Monitor fuel card transactions, mileage reporting, and submit reimbursement forms with supporting documentation.
* Maintain accurate fleet inventory, maintenance records, and cost tracking (repairs, parts, fuel, insurance, and operating expenses).
* Coordinate with program managers to meet transportation needs and ensure vehicle availability.
* Support Facilities in moving equipment and materials between QCH sites.
* Assist the Transportation Department with participant appointments and route planning.
Driver Management & Safety
* Ensure all drivers are trained, licensed, and compliant with QCH Driver & Vehicle Policy.
* Organize quarterly driver meetings and required training sessions, including defensive driving and safety programs.
* Monitor driver performance and maintain driver qualification files.
Qualifications
* Valid New York State Driver’s License with a clean driving record.
* Minimum 2 years of fleet management experience, including vehicle maintenance scheduling and vendor coordination.
* Knowledge of NYC roadways and routes for effective dispatch and routing.
* Experience in transportation logistics and cross-department coordination.
* Strong organizational, written, and verbal communication skills.
* Proficiency with Microsoft Office and fleet management software systems.
* Experience serving diverse or older adult populations .
Schedule & Compensation
* Schedule: Monday–Friday, 9:00 AM – 5:00 PM (occasional evenings/weekends as needed)
* Status: Full-Time
* Salary Range: $50,000 – $55,000 annually (based on experience)
