Job Summary
The Safety Coordinator will be responsible for implementing the company safety program for Forcine Concrete & Construction Co Inc., and its affiliates. A successful candidate in this role must have a strong work ethic and great communication skills.
Key Responsibilities:
1. Visit different job sites regularly.
2. Conduct regular safety inspections on construction sites, identify potential hazards, and ensure OSHA compliance.
3. Participate in safety training sessions and help educate team members on proper procedures, equipment usage, and emergency protocols.
4. Conduct safety audits to evaluate the effectiveness of safety programs and identify areas for improvement.
5. Maintain professional relationships with employees and management to facilitate the correction of safety issues.
6. Respond to workplace accidents, create reports, participate in investigations, and contribute to corrective actions, in collaboration with the Safety Director.
7. Ensure OSHA compliance across all trades.
8. Participate in safety committee meetings, review safety concerns, and document procedures to address issues.
9. Attend safety seminars and training to stay updated on OSHA regulations.
10. Attend and lead job-site meetings with employees and clients as needed.
11. Maintain composure and professionalism during emergency situations.
12. Consider industry regulations and specific job site risks to ensure safety in coordination with the Safety Director.
13. Promote safety awareness and educate others on workplace health and safety practices.
Qualifications:
1. Minimum of 2 years of concrete construction and safety experience.
2. Motivated with a strong work ethic.
3. Knowledge of safety regulations and best practices.
4. Strong attention to detail and problem-solving skills.
5. Ability to teach safety standards effectively.
6. Excellent written and verbal communication and interpersonal skills.
7. Bilingual in Spanish preferred.
Other Requirements:
1. Experience in developing, implementing, and enforcing safety training programs.
2. Strong organizational skills and task prioritization.
3. Experience maintaining accurate safety records and incident reports.
4. Ability to drive on construction sites and walk on rough terrain.
5. Ability to take effective jobsite photos and notes.
6. Valid driver’s license.
7. Some travel required.
