Class 2 Driver – Specialist Agricultural Transport - Peterborough (Nationwide Travel) - £15.27 per hour (39 hrs/week) - Overtime £19.63/hr
The Job:
An exciting opportunity has arisen for a reliable and safety-focused Class 2 Driver to join a leading agricultural and hatchery operation. This is a varied, hands-on role combining professional driving with active work within modern, welfare-led facilities. The position involves transporting live poultry and hatchery products across the UK using a specialist, low-emission fleet designed for animal welfare and sustainability.
Key Responsibilities:
- Safely operate a Class 2 vehicle to transport live animals and hatchery products nationwide
- Load and unload vehicles independently, ensuring all welfare and safety standards are met
- Carry out daily vehicle checks and maintain cleanliness and compliance
- Follow strict biosecurity, safety, and animal welfare procedures
- Complete all transport documentation accurately
- Support hatchery operations when not driving, including general duties and hygiene tasks
- Represent the business professionally when liaising with farms, depots, and clients

The Candidate:
- Valid Class 2 (Category C) Driving Licence
- Previous commercial driving experience preferred (training can be provided)
- Strong understanding of load security, vehicle safety, and manual handling
- Physically fit and comfortable with hands-on duties
- Flexible with working hours, including early starts, late finishes, and occasional overnight stays (accommodation provided)
- Commitment to biosecurity, animal welfare, and sustainability
- No contact with poultry or birds outside work (biosecurity requirement)
The Package:
- £15.27 per hour, 39-hour week
- Overtime rate: £19.63 per hour
