Position Details
* Title: Band 5 Graduate Apprentice Operating Department Practitioner (ODP)
* Contract: Permanent
* Hours: Full-time (37 hours/week)
* Locations: Various NHS Lothian sites, including St John's, Western General Hospital, Royal Hospital for Children and Young People, and the Princess Alexandra Eye Pavilion
* Salary: £31,892 - £39,735 (Annex 21*)
Program Details
We offer an exciting opportunity to undertake a BSc in Operating Department Practice in partnership with the University of the West of Scotland. The three-year program starts in September 2025, combining online theory (20%) and clinical work (80%). Successful completion enables registration with the HCPC as an ODP.
Training and Pay
During training, successful candidates will be paid according to the Agenda for Change, starting at 75% of the qualified rate, decreasing as training progresses.
Candidate Requirements
* Self-motivated, caring, with excellent communication skills
* Proficient in digital technology and able to work independently
* Relevant academic qualifications (see entry criteria below)
Entry Criteria
* Passes in Scottish National Qualifications or GCSEs with relevant subjects
* English language proficiency equivalent to IELTS Level 7 (no element below 6.5)
Additional Information
