Air Conditioning Engineer
Location: Shrewsbury
Salary: £38,000 - £48,000 per annum (dependent on experience)
Working Hours: Full-time, Monday to Friday
On-Call: 1 in 4 weeks (out-of-hours rota, paid accordingly)
Overview
An established and growing engineering business is seeking an experienced Air Conditioning Engineer to join its team. This Air Conditioning Engineer role is ideal for a skilled professional with strong fault-finding ability and experience across a wide range of systems, offering long-term career progression within a dynamic environment.
Key Responsibilities
* Diagnose, service, and repair air conditioning and refrigeration systems as an Air Conditioning Engineer
* Respond to both planned maintenance and reactive breakdown callouts
* Work across a variety of commercial and industrial systems, including air handling units and chillers
* Interpret and utilise technical documentation to support fault finding and repairs
* Use mobile/tablet-based service management systems to record work and communicate updates
* Participate in an out-of-hours call rota (1 in 4 weeks, paid accordingly)
* Deliver high levels of customer service while maintaining quality and safety standards
Skills & Experience Required
* Minimum of 5 years’ experience working as an Air Conditioning Engineer or similar role
* Strong diagnostic and fault-finding skills across a broad range of AC and refrigeration systems
* Experience with refrigeration and/or chiller equipment
* Ability to read and interpret technical manuals and documentation
* Comfortable using mobile devices and service management applicationsCustomer-focused approach with strong communication skills

Essential Requirements
* F-Gas certification
* Valid UK driving licence
* Proven track record as an Air Conditioning Engineer
* Own hand tools
* DBS clearance (or ability to obtain)
Desirable
* Additional refrigerant/gas certifications
* GCSEs or equivalent qualifications
