Daniel Robinson & Sons Ltd, a family-owned business serving the community for over 130 years, is looking for a caring and proactive Receptionist to join our dedicated team in Bishop’s Stortford!

Receptionist – The Role
As our Receptionist, you will be the first point of contact for families and visitors to the funeral home. This is a key front-facing position where your professionalism, compassion, and attention to detail will help ensure a calm and respectful environment for those we serve.
Your day-to-day responsibilities will include:
• Welcoming visitors and clients to the funeral home in a sensitive and professional manner
• Handling incoming calls, enquiries, and appointments
• Supporting families during visits to the Chapel of Rest
• Maintaining accurate records and administrative systems
• Managing reception and office duties, including data entry, filing, and document preparation
• Assisting across various areas of the funeral home as required
Please note: This is a physically active role that involves working across different areas of the funeral home.
What We’re Looking For
We are seeking someone who is not only organised and efficient but also compassionate and adaptable. You should have:
• A caring and empathetic approach
• Previous experience in a reception or administration role
• Strong Microsoft Word and Excel skills
• Excellent communication and interpersonal abilities
• A high level of accuracy and attention to detail
• Confidence working independently and as part of a supportive team
• A flexible attitude, with the willingness to assist in a wide range of duties
