Position – Forensic/Clinical Psychologist

What would your responsibilities be? Provide direct support to children and young people in 24/7 staffed environments, including those presenting with high-risk behaviours such as self-harm, aggression, or absconding. Carry out psychological assessments and develop formulations to guide care planning, ensuring integration of information from multiple agencies. Work within safeguarding frameworks, child protection procedures, and contribute to court-related processes as required.Deliver and adapt evidence-based interventions (e.g., CBT, trauma-focused CBT, EMDR, systemic approaches) in non-clinical settings to meet individual needs. Offer consultation and facilitate reflective practice sessions for residential care staff teams. Manage complex interpersonal situations, maintaining professional boundaries and promoting a supportive, therapeutic environment.
Qualifications and Requirements
Experience working with children and young people, particularly those with trauma histories and complex needs, or strong transferable skills.
HCPC-registered Clinical, Counselling, or Forensic Psychologist (or equivalent qualification), with post-doctoral expertise in applied psychology.
Skilled in assessment and management of self-harm, risk, crisis, and safeguarding.
Knowledge of therapeutic practices and sensory strategies, with a commitment to embedding therapeutic approaches.
Strong communication skills, both written and verbal, and ability to work independently with supervision support.
Competent in Microsoft Office (Excel, Teams, SharePoint).
Full UK driving licence and access to own vehicle.
