How the training works
You’ll spend four days a week in school, with Wednesdays set aside for online study and professional development.
* September – December: Observe lessons, team‑teach alongside your mentor, and build your confidence in the classroom.
* January – March: Take the lead on planning and delivering lessons, and begin developing your assessment strategies.
* April – July: Teach independently, refine your classroom management, and complete your PGCE and QTS.
What you'll need
* A degree in Computer Science, Computing, Software Engineering, or a closely related field (2:1 or above preferred) — or strong A-level Computer Science
* A genuine passion for computing and for teaching
* Strong communication and organisational skills
A driving licence is helpful but not essential — Carlisle has good public transport links.
