An exciting new opportunity has arisen on the GP Referral Unit (GPRU) for a part-time Band 6 Specialist Nurse. GPRU is an emergency clinic where patients with acute ENT and maxillofacial problems are triaged, assessed, and treated. We are looking for an enthusiastic and motivated nurse willing to learn and develop their skills to provide high-quality, specialist care. There will be training and development opportunities, and you will be supported by our experienced multidisciplinary team. Applicants should be flexible, caring, well-organized, and professional. In this post, you will be expected to work autonomously, demonstrate good coordination and leadership traits, actively collaborate with the team, and demonstrate a willingness to develop your skills. The unit is open from 7am to 10pm every day, and you will be required to work early shifts (7am-7:30pm) and late shifts (9:30am-10pm), including weekends and bank holidays. Responsibilities include:
1. Coordinating and supervising the delivery of specialist evidence-based care to patients with urgent ENT/OMFS problems on the GP Referral Unit.
2. Providing clinical leadership, acting as a role model, and promoting effective teamwork within the department.
3. Providing ambulatory care to patients and promoting patient flow from emergency services.
4. Ensuring patient safety and quality of care by undertaking audits and participating in service improvement projects.
5. Working at an enhanced clinical level as a specialist nurse, supporting patients with ENT and OMFS issues.
