About the Role
An exciting leadership opportunity has arisen for an experienced and motivated education professional to join the senior management team at as Deputy Head of Education.
The role supports the Head of Education in leading the education provision, ensuring high-quality teaching, strong learner outcomes, and effective operational delivery within a secure environment. This is a strategic and hands-on leadership role suited to someone passionate about improving life chances for young people.
Key Responsibilities
* Provide leadership and management of education services.
* Support curriculum planning, timetabling, and quality assurance.
* Manage staff performance and drive continuous improvement.
* Use data to monitor performance and inform decision-making.
* Maintain a safe, respectful, and inclusive learning environment.
* Ensure compliance with inspection, safeguarding, and security standards.
* Work collaboratively with internal and external stakeholders.
* Contribute to senior management planning and institutional objectives.
Key Requirements
* Qualified Teacher Status and senior leadership qualification (or working towards).
* Significant leadership, teaching, and team management experience.
* Experience working with young people with additional needs, including SEMH.
* Strong knowledge of safeguarding, SEND, behaviour management, and inspection frameworks.
* Experience of curriculum management, quality improvement, and performance monitoring.
* Ability to analyse data and produce evaluation or improvement plans.
* Confident communicator with strong organisational, negotiation, and influencing skills.
* ICT proficiency including Microsoft Office.
* Adaptable, resilient, and able to respond effectively to challenges.
* Commitment to equality, diversity, inclusion, and confidentiality.
* Ability to work independently and collaboratively with senior stakeholders.
* Understanding of the Youth Justice System or experience in a secure/regulated setting (desirable).
* Relevant youth justice or specialist training (desirable).
* Enhanced DBS clearance required.
* Demonstrable commitment to safeguarding children and vulnerable adults.
