Job description
Job responsibilities
“Keep in touch” sessions: 1 session a month all GPs are given the opportunity to work at the site they usually do not work (for example EG doctors would work 1 session at LV a month). The aim of this is to “keep in touch” with colleagues on other sites. These sessions are essentially treated as locum sessions and any results/admin generated are expected to go back to the named GP.
Clinical coffee/huddle time: from 11:30 until 12:00 all available team members are expected to attend clinical coffee. At present this is taking place via MS teams. This is important to not only discuss clinical cases but also for pastoral support and to feedback to the wider clinical team. Alongside GPs the huddles are supported by nursing staff, pharmacists and our first contact physios. The huddles allow us all to stay in touch and achieve consensus on both clinical and non-clinical matters.
Home visits: These are to be dealt with as per the home visit policy. In general home visits are requested in the morning and the expectation is that these will be done between 12:30-14:00.
Results/Docman/Admin: You are expected to action the results of any tests you personally request, in line with GMC guidelines. In addition to this every GP is assigned a small section of the practice population as is their designated named GP (this is done via an A-Z list). You are also responsible for the routine monitoring, medication reviews and incoming Docman/Admin of you A-Z list.
