* Contract: Bank / Zero Hour Contract, Full Time, Part Time
* Role Type: Permanent, Bank / Zero Hour Contract
* Working hours per week: 40 (rotational basis, rota provided 4 weeks in advance)
* Salary: £12.36 – £13.00 per hour
* Closing Date: Sunday 30 November 2025
* Shift Patterns: 2–3 shifts per week with sleep‑in
* Overtime: 1.25× hourly rate
* Additional Pay: £30 per mandatory sleep‑in shift

About the Role
We are looking for Residential Care workers to join one of our homes in the North East, building warm, supportive relationships with young people and helping them to overcome past and present difficulties. Each day is dynamic and varied, with activities ranging from 1:1 support to off‑site community engagement. The successful candidate will be adaptable, flexible, and skilled in reading situations to guide young people toward positive choices.
Key Responsibilities
* Providing emotional support during challenging times
* Fostering ambition in young people and assisting them in achieving their goals and maximising their potential
* Offering support in the educational pursuits of young individuals
* Maintaining accurate records and preparing written reports for planning meetings, reviews, or any other meetings as directed by the line manager
* Empowering young people to actively participate in decision‑making about their lives and future
* Acting as an advocate in meetings where the young person is the subject of discussion
* Encouraging community engagement, attending off‑site activities, and expanding their personal social networks
* Meeting the needs of children and young people, organising social activities, and maintaining the home (laundry, cooking, cleaning, shopping, etc.)
Qualifications / Experience / Requirements
* Minimum age requirement: 21 years old
* Full UK driving licence preferable (but not essential)
* No prior experience necessary; only a commitment and passion for working with young people
* Attendance at a 2‑week training programme required
* Must have availability for sleep‑in shifts
