We are seeking an experienced Ecologist to support major infrastructure projects in Northern Ireland, with a particular focus on highway and rail ecological surveys. This role offers flexibility, autonomy, and the chance to lead impactful environmental work within a supportive team.
Key Responsibilities
* Lead and conduct ecological surveys for highways and rail projects.
* Ensure compliance with UK and NI wildlife legislation, especially regarding protected species.
* Prepare high-quality technical and ecological reports.
* Collaborate with colleagues across disciplines to deliver project objectives.
* Apply cross-disciplinary species knowledge to a variety of projects.
* Make informed, independent decisions both in the field and office.
Essential Requirements
* Minimum 34 years relevant ecological experience.
* PTS certification (highly desirable) and ability to work on rail.
* Strong knowledge of UK and NI wildlife legislation.
* Proven ability to lead surveys and deliver technical reporting.
* Full UK driving licence (vehicle provided for site work).
* Ability to work independently and manage workload effectively.
Additional Information
* Role primarily based in Northern Ireland; remote review work from other regions may be possible (no travel to Britain required).
