We are seeking a dedicated and compassionate Lower School Teacher to join a SEND school. This role focuses on delivering high-quality teaching and support to pupils in Key Stage 2, with a strong emphasis on Special Educational Needs and Disabilities (SEND).
The successful candidate will play a key role in creating an inclusive, nurturing, and engaging learning environment that supports pupils with a range of learning needs to reach their full potential.
Key Responsibilities
* Plan and deliver creative, differentiated lessons aligned with the KS2 curriculum
* Support pupils with a variety of SEND, including ASD, ADHD, and learning difficulties
* Adapt teaching strategies to meet individual education plans (IEPs/EHCPs)
* Monitor pupil progress and provide regular feedback to parents and colleagues
* Work collaboratively with SENCOs, teaching assistants, and external professionals
* Foster a positive and inclusive classroom environment
Requirements
* Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) – essential
* Experience working with SEND pupils within a school setting
* Strong understanding of inclusive teaching practices and differentiation
* Excellent classroom and behaviour management skills
* A patient, empathetic, and flexible approach
* Commitment to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children
Desirable
* Experience within specialist or resource-based settings
* Additional SEND qualifications or training
* Knowledge of EHCP processes

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay. This advert is for a temporary position. In some cases, the option to make this role permanent may become available at a later date.
