Vacancy: Spanish Teacher

An excellent opportunity has arisen for an enthusiastic and dedicated Spanish Teacher to join the vibrant Modern Foreign Languages (MFL) department at a secondary school in Telford from September 2025. This is a full-time, permanent position suitable for both experienced teachers and Early Career Teachers (ECTs) who are passionate about inspiring students to develop their language skills and broaden their cultural understanding.
Role Overview:
The successful candidate will be responsible for teaching Spanish across Key Stage 3 and Key Stage 4, with the potential for teaching Key Stage 5 for a suitably qualified candidate. The role involves delivering a broad and engaging Spanish curriculum, focusing on all four key language skills: speaking, listening, reading, and writing, while fostering an appreciation for Spanish-speaking cultures.
Key Responsibilities:
Plan and deliver engaging, structured Spanish lessons that meet the needs of all learners
Develop and implement schemes of work that cover a range of topics, from basic language skills to more complex grammatical structures and cultural studies
Monitor, assess, and provide feedback on student progress to encourage improvement and achievement
Create a supportive and dynamic classroom environment that inspires students to develop a love for language learning
Contribute to the ongoing development of the MFL curriculum and resources
Support extracurricular activities, including language clubs, cultural events, and trips to Spanish-speaking countries
Maintain high standards of behaviour and create a positive learning environment
Person Specification:
Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) or equivalent
A degree in Spanish, Modern Languages, or a related subject
Proven experience of teaching Spanish at Key Stage 3 and Key Stage 4 (Key Stage 5 teaching is advantageous but not essential)
Strong subject knowledge and a passion for promoting language learning
Ability to engage and inspire students of all abilities and backgrounds
Excellent communication, organisational, and classroom management skills
A commitment to continuous professional development and reflective practice
