We’re working exclusively with a growing business based in Rotherham, looking to appoint an Accounts Assistant – a permanent opportunity.Our client is keen to connect with experienced Finance Assistants who are practical, detail-focused, and confident working in a fast-paced finance environment. This is a hands-on role where you'll be involved in a wide range of responsibilities—from payroll and sales ledger to general administration—while also playing a key part in driving process improvements across the team.
Your new role
1. Manage the sales ledger, including customer invoicing, payment processing, and issuing account statements
2. Support credit control activities to ensure timely collections and account resolution
3. Oversee the purchase ledger by processing supplier invoices, coordinating payment runs, and setting up new suppliers
4. Resolve invoice discrepancies through accurate reconciliations and clearmunication
5. Assist with payroll processing, including pensions and statutory payments
6. Maintain daily banking records, including cash book postings, petty cash management, and employee expense claims
7. Ensure all financial data is recorded accurately, efficiently, and in line withpany procedures
What you'll need to succeed
To thrive in this role, you’ll need proven experience working in a similar finance or accounts position, with a strong grasp of transactional processes and day-to-day financial operations. A sharp eye for detail and a structured, methodical approach are essential, along with confidence using Excel and finance systems. You’ll befortable collaborating with others to meet deadlines and solve problems, and naturally inclined to seek out smarter, more efficient ways of working.
