We are looking for a committed and knowledgeable Billing and Debt Supervisor to join our Council Tax and Non‑Domestic Rates (NNDR) service. This is a key role supporting the Senior Local Taxation Officer and ensuring that our billing, administration and recovery work is delivered accurately, consistently and in full accordance with legislation. You will oversee day‑to‑day operations, provide technical expertise, support staff development and handle the more complex and sensitive cases that arise within the service. The successful candidate will have strong experience working within a Revenues environment, with a sound knowledge of Council Tax and/or NNDR legislation and processes. You will be confident in handling complex queries, supervising staff, prioritising workloads and delivering high‑quality customer‑focused services. Experience with court or tribunal work and IRRV qualifications are desirable but not essential. As part of a busy, high‑performing team, you will play an important role in maintaining the quality, efficiency and fairness of our Revenues service. You will work closely with colleagues across the Council, helping to ensure customers receive clear, accurate information and that issues are resolved promptly and professionally. Your leadership will help shape the service, supporting team members as they develop and ensuring our processes remain robust and customer‑focused. This role is ideal for someone with strong Revenues experience who enjoys problem‑solving, collaborative working and supporting others. You will be well‑organised, confident interpreting legislation, and motivated by achieving high standards.
