Job Summary
This role provides locum consultant services to maintain and improve departmental capacity, addressing service deficits due to internal job plan restructuring and increased demand. The post holder will be part of the Head and Neck Oncology MDT team.
Responsibilities include training and supervising junior medical staff and allied health professionals. Clinics and theatre sessions are held at East Grinstead and spoke sites. Changes or additions to job plan commitments, such as MDTs in our region, may be required.
Main Duties
The postholder will be based at Queen Victoria Hospital. Full training in all aspects of maxillofacial surgery is essential.
The role involves participating in the service, assisting colleagues with maxillofacial trauma, and demonstrating skills that complement and expand the existing skill set in Head and Neck Oncology, with opportunities for subspecialist interests and cross-referrals.

Person Specification
Qualifications (Essential)
* MBBS or equivalent medical degree
* Dental qualification registerable with the GDC
* Successful completion of FRCS or equivalent
* Entry on the UK Specialist Register via CCT, CESR, or European Community Rights (within six months of interview)
Clinical Expertise (Essential)
* Thorough training and experience in managing complex cases, including microvascular surgery
