Band 6 ODP/Anaesthetic Nurse Team Leader for Main Theatres/ Treatment Centre. Responsible for clinical leadership in the Theatre environment, operational management of staff and resources, and the delivery of high‑quality, compassionate care.
Main duties
* Provide clinical leadership to a team of Anaesthetic Nurses/ODPs within the Theatre.
* Assume responsibility for operational management in the absence of the Team Leader.
* Act as a role model, promote excellent Theatre practice, and empower staff to develop advanced clinical skills.
* Supervise within a specific area and participate in recruitment, selection and retention of staff.
* Work as part of a 24/7 rotating schedule, including evenings, nights, on‑call, bank holidays and weekends.
Person specification
Experience
* High level clinical skills and knowledge.
* Participated in the formulation of procedures to ensure best practice.
* Teaching and assessment experience.
* Must hold the ODP qualification or, for nurses, additional formal post‑basic training.
Skills
* Effective communication within a multidisciplinary team.
* Basic computer skills.
* Developing leadership and supervisory skills.
* Ability to lead and motivate a diverse group of staff.
* Administration of IV drugs.
* IV cannulation.
Qualifications / Training
* Registered Nurse or Registered ODP.
* Registration with the Nursing and Midwifery Council (NMC) or Health and Care Professions Council (HCPC).
* Evidence of continuing professional development.
