Scottish Canals is looking for Destination Associates - Holiday Boat Handover/Turnaround to join our friendly team at The Falkirk Wheel!
We are looking for passionate, enthusiastic, and motivated individuals to join our team and work with us over our Spring to Autumn 2026 season.

Full uniform and training will be provided.
Key Duties Include:
* Support the Holiday Boat Operations Manager to maintain and keep all hire boats, equipment and inventory in a satisfactory condition. This will include
* assisting with maintenance checks required between trips.
* carry out re-fuelling of boats.
* ensure pump out and re-filling of water tanks has been carried out efficiently.
* ensure that the external appearance of all boats is at an acceptable standard.
* become familiar with the workings of a canal boat.
* drive the boats.
* gain knowledge of the canal boat engine and other areas where maintenance is required. If applicable could be part of the out of hours on call team.
* Support the Holiday Boat Manager to ensure that all hire boats are prepared to the high standard expected by customers.
* Support the Holiday Boat Operation Manager to ensure all boat interiors are maintained effectively.
* Support the Holiday Boat Operations Manager in the turnaround process ensuring customers get an efficient and friendly service.
* Work with the Holiday Boat Operations Manager to manage boat movement on turnaround days.
* Ensure 5-star quality service and friendly approach is given to customers.
* Help develop and maintain high levels of customer satisfaction and ensure that the Holiday Boats gives excellent customer care.
* Be responsible, with other members of the team, for complying with all statutory regulations pertaining to operating a boat hire holiday company.

* Boat or canal knowledge (not essential but beneficial)
* Mechanical Knowledge (not essential but beneficial)
Previous experience in a similar role is welcomed, but not essential.
This role attracts a salary of £12.60 changing to £13.45 from April 2026 per hour. You will work on a rota which may include weekends and bank holidays.
