Overview
We are looking for a passionate and driven Sous Chef to join our kitchen team at Holiday Inn Manchester City Centre.
This is an exciting opportunity to work in a fast-paced hotel kitchen where creativity, teamwork and quality are at the heart of everything we do. Supporting the Head Chef, you will play a key role in leading the brigade, maintaining high standards, and helping deliver exceptional food for our guests.
Responsibilities
* Supporting the Head Chef with the day-to-day running of the kitchen, stepping into their shoes in their absence
* Leading and motivating the brigade to deliver consistently high-quality dishes
* Recreating dishes developed by our Head Chef and kitchen team
* Creating exciting and profitable menus
* Coaching, mentoring and developing junior chefs within the brigade
* Monitoring portion control, waste management and labour productivity to maintain strong profit margins
* Identifying innovative ways to improve financial performance without compromising on quality
* Ensuring all food preparation meets the highest standards of food safety, hygiene and health & safety regulations
What we’re looking for
* An experienced Sous Chef or a strong Chef de Partie ready to take the next step
* Excellent cooking skills and the ability to perform in a fast-paced kitchen environment
* Strong leadership skills with a passion for developing others
* A solid understanding of produce, ingredients and food cost control
* Creativity to design specials that are both exciting and commercially successful
* A flexible, adaptable and hardworking approach
* A positive attitude and the ability to bring energy and fun to the kitchen team
Experience working in a hotel kitchen environment would be beneficial but is not essential.
