Job Title: Maintenance Technician
Location: Coventry
Pay Rate: £32.56 per hour via PAYE
Shift: 3 days on, 3 days off: 7am-7pm, 6-weeks of early shift.
3 nights on 3 nights off: 7pm -7am, 6-weeks of night shift.
Contract Length: 12 Months initially
As a Maintenance Technician, you will be a key member of the maintenance team, responsible for maintaining plant and equipment to a high standard. This includes ensuring compliance with all electrical and mechanical regulations and meeting the requirements of the manufacturing areas.
Key Responsibilities:
1. Perform corrective electrical (or minor mechanical) repairs on plant and equipment, restoring them to optimal operational condition.
2. Prioritize safety during maintenance, ensuring the well-being of operators, maintenance personnel, and third parties.
3. Implement planned corrective maintenance during scheduled shutdowns and carry out preventive maintenance using diagnostic and predictive techniques.
4. Provide installation and refurbishment services for plant equipment and buildings to continuously improve company assets.
5. Monitor and record the condition of plant and machinery, ensuring legislative compliance.
6. Support production operations by training staff in first-line maintenance procedures.
7. Promote continuous improvement by reducing downtime through refining preventive maintenance schedules and performance monitoring.
8. Train and advise other team members and attend training courses as needed.
9. Comply with Health, Safety, Environmental policies, and Quality procedures.
10. Work independently or within a team and liaise with subcontractors for maintenance purposes.
11. Carry out special duties as assigned.
Skills / Technical Requirements:
Essential:
12. Knowledge and experience with CMMS systems
13. Installation and maintenance of electrical systems
14. Maintenance of plant equipment including CNC machines (Mazak, Mori Seiki) and Fanuc/Siemens controls
15. Engineering/Maintenance Apprenticeship
16. GCSE or equivalent in Maths and English
17. City & Guilds or equivalent qualification
18. Ability to work under pressure and in hazardous areas (basements, service ducts, roofs, etc.)
19. Availability to cover day and night shift patterns
Desirable:
20. BS7671, 18th edition qualification
21. Knowledge of IEE wiring regulations, electrical diagrams, ladder diagrams
22. Experience with industrial boilers (BG01) and induction furnaces
23. PC skills and working knowledge of statutory regulations (electrical, pressure systems, Health & Safety
