Principal Social Worker – Resilient Families Service (Assessment, Brokerage & Review Team EAST) Location: Rhondda Cynon Taf (RCT) Salary: £43.60 Per hour UMBRELLA (£33 PAYE) Contract: Full time, Initially 3 months Are you an experienced and motivated social worker looking to make a meaningful impact on families, children, and young people? About the Role As a Principal Social Worker within the Assessment, Brokerage, and Review Team EAST, you will: Provide practical, reliable, and flexible support to families across RCT. Undertake proportionate, resilience-based assessments and create bespoke support plans. Direct the delivery of high-quality interventions from a range of service providers. Manage a defined caseload while building strong links with partner agencies. Mentor, guide, and support staff, sharing your skills and expertise to develop the team. Apply your knowledge of the Children Act 1989, Social Services and Wellbeing Act 2014, and other relevant legislation in day-to-day practice. Demonstrate sound risk assessment and threshold-setting skills. Maintain anti-oppressive, child-focused, and family-centred practice. About You: To be considered, you must: Hold a professional, recognised Social Work qualification. Be registered, and maintain registration, as a Social Worker with Social Care Wales. Have experience of, or an interest in, working with children, young people, and families. Possess strong assessment, planning, and communication skills. Be committed to anti-oppressive practice and continuous professional development. Demonstrate the ability to mentor staff and share expertise. Be up-to-date with emerging issues and best practice in childcare and social work.
