HSE Manager
Main purpose of the job
To develop and implement Health, Safety, Environmental & Sustainability best practices, ensuring compliance with current legislation, codes of practice, and guidance related to employment and service provision. The HSE Manager works proactively with managers to establish safe systems of work and a safe environment for colleagues and visitors. They support the AGM to ensure the plant meets Artifex Interior Systems' HSES requirements and complies with relevant standards and legislation, engaging with stakeholders as needed.
Additionally, they focus on continuous improvement in safety, sustainability, and environmental performance, providing leadership and coaching to the site team.
The role includes gathering HSES data, evaluating management systems, initiating corrective actions, and reporting progress, ensuring local procedures align with company standards.
Main responsibilities
1. Support the HSES Director and assist the HSE function with action plans, meetings, and technical support.
2. Participate in ISO14001 / ISO45001 internal audits, familiar with HSE management systems and ISO norms, with knowledge of ISO50001.
3. Conduct systemic improvement process (SIP) audits against company standards.
4. Prepare HSE communications, alerts, and promote good behaviors.
5. Track audit points, investigation reports, and roadmaps; collate and report findings.
6. Analyze incidents and identify trends using root cause analysis.
7. Process statistical data and prepare reports for management.
8. Create and manage continuous improvement plans.
9. Manage document control to ensure all documents meet standards.
10. Support HSE committee meetings and define management system requirements.
11. Ensure HSES standards and customer requirements are met and documented.
12. Report audit results, support closure of deviations, and advise management on system effectiveness.
13. Train and coach management in ISO standards and environmental, health & safety standards.
14. Assist in preparations for third-party audits and ensure deviations are addressed.
15. Stay informed on legislative changes and incorporate them into legal registers.
16. Participate in management reviews and report on HSE status.
17. Implement HSES programs and coach management on HSES matters.
18. Ensure all employees and visitors receive proper HSES induction and report incident statistics.
Preferred skills and experience
* Experience in automotive or production sectors as HSE Engineer, Manager, or Specialist.
* Document management experience.
* Degree in chemistry, machinery, mechanics, or related fields, or equivalent education.
* Knowledge of ISO14001, ISO45001, HSE legislation, and customer requirements.
* Fluent in English; proficient in MS Office; excellent organizational and communication skills.
* Empathic, active listening, and multi-tasking abilities.
* Passion for continuous learning in HSES principles and technologies.
* Interpersonal, influencing skills, and leadership capabilities.
* Ability to work under pressure and engage at all organizational levels.
* Strong problem-solving skills and commitment to continuous improvement.
