Overview
We are seeking Healthcare Assistants to join the Medical Acute Dependency Unit (MADU), a 16-bed unit treating patients with acute respiratory and other medical conditions.
The role supports the nursing team and provides patient care in a front‑facing clinical environment. It offers career development through training, employee benefits, and flexible working patterns.
Responsibilities
* Assist with the care of patients, including collection of urine and faecal samples, swabs, recording of fluid intake/output, changing of stomas and drainage bags, catheter care, and recording vital signs (pulse, temperature, blood pressure, saturations) and NEWS2 scoring.
* Support patients during meals, menu selection, dietary specialities and cultural requirements.
* Maintain personal hygiene of patients.
* Assist with safe patient movement using equipment and mobility assessment outcomes to ensure comfort.
* Provide care for enhanced care observation patients (1:1) or bay‑based observation as required.
* Support implementation of individual care plans and advise registered nurses of any changes in patient condition.
* Deliver excellent customer care to patients, relatives, carers and colleagues.
Qualifications & Requirements
* Must reside in the UK and have current experience as a Healthcare Assistant in a UK healthcare setting.
* Front‑facing clinical experience with a high level of spoken and written English required.
* Experience or willingness to complete a Care Certificate self‑assessment before interview.
* Knowledge of NVQ or similar healthcare qualifications is advantageous but not mandatory.
* Applications must not use AI software for completion.
