BSW Timber Solutions Ltd are part of the highly successful BSW Group, one of the UK’s largest integrated timber and forestry businesses. We are a leading manufacturer and distributor supplying major DIY and Builders’ Merchant markets nationwide.
We’re offering an exciting opportunity to join our Stoke operation as a Supply Chain Controller (Maternity Cover). This is a key role within our Retail Supply Chain function, providing analytical insight and operational support to ensure strong service levels, product availability and effective supplier performance.
Working closely with the Retail Supply Chain Manager, you’ll support forecasting, stock availability and supplier management, helping the business consistently meet its customer service and operational commitments.
In the main, you’ll be responsible for:
• Supporting supply chain interactions with key Retail customers, building positive and collaborative relationships.
• Reviewing sales forecasts, modelling demand and supporting supplier capacity planning.
• Managing specific suppliers, monitoring performance against targets, benchmarks and service agreements.
• Liaising with third-party providers to confirm production capability, stock commitments and order schedules.
• Preparing and processing stock orders, ensuring accuracy and timeliness.
• Maintaining product availability while supporting the efficient management of working capital.
• Minimising the impact of stock shortages on the business and its customers.
• Analysing sales, stock profiles and key data to support informed decision-making.
• Producing reports and insights for management review.
• Supporting the development and effective use of SAP and MRP systems within the supply chain function.
• Identifying opportunities to improve processes, systems and overall supply chain performance.
What we’re looking for:
We’re seeking a capable and analytical supply chain professional who enjoys working with data, systems and stakeholders in a fast-paced manufacturing environment.
You’ll need:
• At least 3 years’ experience in a supply chain, procurement or category/account role.
• Experience working within a manufacturing or operational environment.
• Strong SAP experience (essential).
• Well-developed analytical skills and strong Excel capability.
• The ability to interpret data, problem-solve and present findings clearly.
• A proactive, organised and methodical approach, with strong attention to detail.
• Confident communication skills, able to work effectively with suppliers and internal stakeholders.
• A positive, collaborative and “can-do” attitude.
Experience within a retail supply chain, forecasting models, category management and/or the timber industry would be advantageous.
