Role: Active Travel Coordinator
Salary: Grade H £36,124 - £38,626 a year
Location: Council House
Hours: 37 hours a week

We are recruiting for the role of an Active Travel Coordinator, a key post within Climate and Active Environments - Physical Activity and Health team to support us in our vision to create resilience and improve health by connecting people to each other, their communities and their environment. This is an exciting opportunity for someone who is not only experienced, but also passionate about creating a new narrative for Active Travel in Derby, one that is collaborative, community led and reflective of the diverse needs of Derby’s population.
The role involves leading and managing existing projects such as Cycle Derby and supporting community led walking programmes, with the ambition to grow these further and increase opportunities for all residents to move more and travel actively within their community and city.

About You
To be successful in this role, you’ll ideally have…
• Proven leadership in delivering collaborative projects in Active Travel, Health improvement, or Physical Activity.
• Strong community engagement skills, with a track record of co-design and partnership working.
• An understanding of systemic barriers faced by underrepresented communities and a drive to create inclusive, practical solutions.
• Experience with funding
