Dr. Martens is a globally recognisable and culturally influential British brand with over 60 years of heritage. We are looking for an engaging, inspirational Assistant Store Manager (32hr) at our Reading store to lead a diverse team.
The Assistant Store Manager will work closely with the Store Manager to provide leadership, guide the team, and ensure excellent customer service. You will focus on team well-being, store operations, sales, and safety, while also developing your own skills.
Responsibilities
* Manage daily retail operations, including coaching, sales analysis, visual merchandising, and administration.
* Take responsibility for the store and team in the absence of the Store Manager.
* Ensure health, safety, and security standards are maintained.
* Achieve KPIs such as sales, conversion rate, and units per transaction in line with the store’s budget.
* Lead customer experience initiatives and product knowledge training through coaching.
* Manage stock procedures, including stock takes, deliveries, and loss prevention.
* Collaborate with the Store Manager, Regional Manager, and Head Office for business decisions.

Requirements
* Passion for our product.
* Experience as an Assistant Store Manager or Supervisor, preferably in fashion/lifestyle retail.
* Confidence in coaching and developing teams.
* Results-driven with resilience and a solution-oriented mindset.
* Fluent in English; additional languages are a plus.
* Proficient in Microsoft Office and POS systems.
