The ideal candidate should be able to support production environments, participate in application architecture discussions, and ensure the stability and scalability of web and microservices-based applications.
Key Responsibilities:
· Take ownership of one or more application products, managing operational aspects such as OS and application patching, performance, and availability.
· Deploy, configure, and maintain application middleware (e.g., WebSphere in HA mode) in production.
· Maintain and operate complex enterprise container architectures (3-tier), supporting up to 100 environments per site.
· Participate in application architecture sessions to provide input on integration mechanisms like Web Services, MQ interfaces, and SFTP.
· Design, implement, and administer Kubernetes-based platforms (e.g., OpenShift, Tanzu, VMware Cloud Foundation).
· Manage container provisioning lifecycle, image repositories, and container-centric service deployments.
· Support and maintain scalable web and microservices architectures.
· Drive and support DevSecOps automation and tooling.
· Establish and execute operational processes for:
· OS-level and application-level patching
· System housekeeping and archival
· Backup and recovery procedures
· Ensure infrastructure and systems adhere to government-grade security standards, including hardening, scanning, and compliance.
Top 3 Must-Have Skills:
· Experience designing and implementing enterprise container applications using Kubernetes platforms (OpenShift/Tanzu).
· Hands-on experience with middleware/integration tools like IBM MQ, including setup, administration, and troubleshooting.
· Proven ability to maintain and operate large-scale online web and microservices architectures.
Good-to-Have Skills:
· Familiarity with Agile methodologies and CI/CD tools.
· Exposure to Elastic ELK Stack (Elasticsearch, Logstash, Kibana), including query development and dashboarding.
· Understanding of web applications from frontend to backend (SSO, Web Server, App Server, DB, etc.).
· Experience in operational delivery—patching, performance tuning, automation, and monitoring.
Minimum Qualifications:
· Bachelor’s degree in computer science, Engineering, or a related field.
· Minimum 2 years of relevant experience in either Kubernetes-based environments or middleware infrastructure.
Preferred Profiles:
· Candidates with either strong Kubernetes experience or middleware expertise (IBM MQ, WebSphere, etc.) will be considered.
