Overview
Paediatric Dietitian role at NHS. The position is in general paediatrics with a varied caseload based at the Royal London Hospital and one day per week at Newham University Hospital. The post is suitable for a new graduate Dietitian or a Dietitian currently at Band 5 seeking paediatric experience.
Responsibilities
* Provide an effective dietetic service to paediatric in-patients and outpatients at The Royal London Hospital and Newham University Hospital.
* Ensure that research and audit are undertaken regularly to ensure evidence-based practice.
Qualifications
Essential
* BSc in Nutrition and Dietetics or relevant postgraduate qualification
* HCPC registered
Experience
* Clinical experience in acute and/or community settings
* Experience working within a multidisciplinary team and understanding team dynamics
* Commitment to CPD and evidence-based practice
* Understanding of clinical governance and its relevance to daily practice
* Ability to research and interpret literature and apply findings to practice
* Ability to undertake audit and change practice accordingly
Desirable
* Previous experience as a Dietitian or Dietetic Assistant Practitioner
* Previous experience in paediatrics
* Previous NHS experience
Skills
* Ability to carry out a dietetic assessment using the ABCDE structure and devise an appropriate, safe dietetic plan
* Good organisational and prioritisation skills
* Ability to demonstrate behaviour change / motivational interviewing
* Ability to reflect and appraise own performance
* Computer literacy (Microsoft Word, PowerPoint, Excel)
