Youll be responsible for a blend of TIG welding, metal finishing, and general production support within a highly specialised engineering workshop. Every part you handle will contribute to the manufacture and refurbishment of precision bearing components used in demanding industrial applications. The work is practical, technical, and varied ideal for someone who enjoys seeing the tangible results of their effort at the end of each day.

Our client is a UK-based manufacturer of hydrodynamic and white-metal lined bearings and related rotating-equipment components. Established in 2018, their team brings over 70 years of combined experience in metallurgy, machining, and design. Based in the Brunswick Industrial Estate in Newcastle upon Tyne, they supply critical components for sectors including oil & gas, power generation, and heavy industry.

Working Hours
Monday to Friday, 08:00 16:00 (37.5 hours per week)
Key Duties
* TIG welding of white-metal alloy (experience with this material is highly beneficial)
* Grit blasting and glass bead blasting of components
* Foundry processes, using molten metal to cast products
* De-burring, cleaning, and polishing of parts to achieve high-quality finishes
* Bench fitting to repair defects and ensure precise surface finishes
* Cleaning and packaging of finished components prior to dispatch
* Creating delivery notes using the ERP system and printing labels (basic computer literacy required)
* Etching part numbers onto products for identification and traceability
* Accepting deliveries and assisting with goods-in processes
Key Requirements
* Proven experience in TIG welding (experience with white-metal alloys an advantage)
* Comfortable with manual, hands-on production and finishing processes
* Good understanding of workshop safety, materials handling, and quality control
* Capable of reading and following work instructions accurately
* Strong attention to detail and commitment to producing high-quality work
* Reliable, punctual, and able to work effectively as part of a small team
* Basic familiarity with computers or ERP systems
