Your newpany
Hays Recruitment is proud to be supporting a Warrington-based secondary school that is easily accessible via public transport as they are looking to appoint a pastoral support or teaching assistant to deliver emotional support literacy interventions to pupils with SEMH and behavioural needs on a 1:1 and small group basis. This is an extremely supportive and weing school that may look to appoint on a permanent basis for the right individual.
Your new role
As a teaching or pastoral assistant within this school, you will play an integral part in the education of select groups of pupils that struggle with SEMH and select behavioural needs. You will offer 1:1 and small group support, with a focus on ELSA interventions and well-being support. Rather than acting as a long-term therapist or counsellor for your new pupils, you will offerprehensive well-being support for a 6–12 week time period, setting specific meaningful targets and accurately tracking pupil progress. Once your group or specific pupil has reached their target, you will then manage a new group or individual pupils whilst still tracking the previous's progress, reintegrating them back into sessions if required.
