The Bradfield Plough is a well established and popular family owned pub in a pretty and very popular village setting right on the edge of Sheffield, in the beautiful village of Bradfield, in the Peak District. We pride ourselves on serving freshly prepared, high-quality food that celebrates local produce and seasonal ingredients.
We are seeking a passionate and experienced Head Chef to lead our kitchen team in and help us continue building a fantastic reputation for great food in a warm, welcoming environment. The ideal candidate will possess a strong background in delivering top-quality fresh food while leading a motivated kitchen team with creativity, efficiency and passion. As the Head Chef, you will be responsible for kitchen management, and ensuring the highest standards of food quality and presentation.
Duties
* Oversee all kitchen operations, including food preparation, cooking, and presentation.
* Manage inventory control and ensure proper food handling practices are followed.
* Supervise kitchen staff, providing leadership and training to maintain high performance levels.
* Coordinate with the dietary department to accommodate special dietary needs and preferences.
* Ensure compliance with health and safety regulations, maintaining a clean and organized kitchen environment.
* Monitor food production processes to maintain quality standards while optimizing efficiency.
* Collaborate with front-of-house staff to ensure seamless service during events and regular dining hours.
* Manage catering operations for special events, ensuring all aspects of food service are executed flawlessly.
* Conduct regular inventory assessments to manage supplies effectively.
Requirements
* Proven experience as a Head Chef or within a similar setting.
* Strong leadership skills with experience in team management and shift management.
* Extensive knowledge of food safety regulations and best practices in food handling.
* Excellent cooking skills
* Ability to work collaboratively in a fast-paced environment while maintaining attention to detail.
* Culinary degree or equivalent experience is preferred.
* Strong communication skills with an emphasis on hospitality.
