Our client is currently recruiting for a Digital Project Manager. Located in Aberdeen, the role will be fully office based and is offered on short-term contract – Ending Feb 2026. ROLE The Digital Project Manager will be responsible for the definition, documentation and end to end delivery of large and small technical and business-related change initiatives within the College, applying both Agile and Waterfall methodology where appropriate to the delivery. The post holder will be expected to define and manage multiple concurrent digital related projects, to meet identified business needs; achieved through planning, acquiring and utilising the necessary resources and skills, within agreed parameters of cost, time and quality. The post holder will be involved in the initiation, definition, design and delivery of digital solutions and projects across the College as part of the annual Project Programme. Reporting to the Programme Manager, the post holder will work closely with the internal IT and Technical Services team, College colleagues and external suppliers to plan and deliver successful projects that are aligned with the ambitions of the college. RESPONSIBILITIES: Plans and co-ordinates activities to manage and implement a project from initiation to final operational stage including the transition into “business-as-usual”. Ensures that projects are managed to realise business benefits. Agrees project approach with stakeholders, and prepares realistic plans (including quality, risk and communications plans) and tracks activities against the project schedule, managing stakeholder involvement as appropriate. Monitors costs, timescales and resources used, and takes action where these deviate from agreed tolerances. Ensures that projects are formally closed and, where appropriate, subsequently reviewed, and that lessons learned are recorded. Promotes the change vision to stakeholders at all levels, to ensure benefits are realised as groups of projects deliver their products into operational use. Maintains the business case for funding the project and confirms continuing business viability of the project at regular intervals. Ensures that there is effective business engagement throughout the project/product lifecycle. Facilitates/initiates the project implementation plan, including all the activities that the business needs to do to prepare for new technical components and technologies. Creates and maintains detailed and baselined project management and resource plans. Tracks and reports against these activities to ensure progress. Contribute to the Strategic Direction of the College by delivering high quality services to support the organisation. REQUIREMENTS: Essential Qualifications relevant to Project Management. Experience of effective planning and delivery of successful projects and project management in an organisation. Experience of working in a team environment and contributing to multiple project and initiatives. Experience of implementing business transformation. Working Knowledge of project management methodology and tools such as Prince 2 and Agile. A broad understanding of the technical underpinnings of IT systems. Ability to understand and interpret user requirements. Business case development and funding submissions Investment options appraisal, return on investment and benefits Desirable Degree in relevant subject area or equivalent work experience. Membership of professional bodies. Evidence of service improvement in an organisation. Evidence of Process Mapping or Business Analysis.
