The role
To support the head of department with all legal aspects of buying, selling, or remortgaging a home, ensuring a smooth, legally sound transfer of property ownership by managing contracts, searches, finances (like Stamp Duty), and liaising with solicitors/conveyancers, agents, lenders, Land Registry, or any other parties that may be involved in such transactions.
Responsibilities
* Acting for buyers and sellers on freehold and leasehold sales and purchases
* Reviewing, drafting, and amending contracts, deeds, reports, and client letters
* Title review, raising/answering enquiries, submitting searches and handling HMLR formalities
* Managing exchange, completion, and post-completion
* Advising on remortgages, mortgage redemption, transfers of equity and secured lending
* Handling residential licences and advising on new-build transactions
* Contributing to BD/marketing and client relationship growth
The ideal candidate
* A UK qualified Solicitor registered with the Solicitors Regulation Authority
* Strong technical knowledge and attention to detail
* A client-focused, commercial approach
* The ability to manage files independently while contributing to a collaborative team
* Clearly communicates complex legal matters in everyday terms
* Confident in the use of IT systems, particularly Word and Excel
* Excellent organisational and time management skills with the ability to manage competing priorities
* The ability to work from our office in Ipswich full time
