Working as part of a team and with the Administration Manager, the successful applicant will be responsible for supporting the catering function, ensuring that the cleanliness within the kitchen and dining area is maintained to a high standard including attention to matters of health & safety and hygiene regulations.
The main duties & responsibilities include:
1. Prepare Apetito frozen meals
2. Prepare foodstuffs, snacks and drinks referring to residents’ dietary needs and preferences including allergies as required.
3. Serve all meals, food and drinks at the specified times.
4. Operate any control systems as required my management completing necessary records.
5. Explore with Care Staff the potential to involve residents in catering activities and deliver suitable activities in response to this.
6. Maintain the menu boards
7. Ensure that the dining tables are set up for the evening meals
8. Ensure that table condiments and sauces are presented to the required standard
9. Ensure that tables, chairs, trolleys and floors are kept clean and tidy at all times.
10. Wash up all equipment in the course of the day
11. Collect and remove all dirty crockery, cutlery and trays
12. Clean all aspects of the kitchen area
13. Ensure that the store areas are kept clean and tidy
14. Carry out deep clean as specified by management
15. Maintain competent food hygiene standards
16. Participate in staff meetings
17. Participate in Supervisions and Appraisals
18. Share in a flexible rota
19. Develop your knowledge and practice
20. Ensure that clothing, including footwear and headgear and personal hygiene is of the highest standard at all times
21. Undertake any other duties as deemed necessary to ensure the smooth running of operation and fulfil the Salvation Army’s mission
The successful candidate(s) will be able to demonstrate:
22. Good communication skills and an enthusiasm for working with older people.
23. Ability to work comfortably in a Christian environment and operate within professional boundaries is necessary prerequisites for the post.
24. Good working knowledge of Food Hygiene
