Apply Now About the role Our Balfour Beatty Ground Engineering business has a fantastic opportunity for an Estimator to join our team based in Basingstoke or Derby Balfour Beattys Ground Engineering business is positioned as the UKs leading specialist geotechnical contractor, drawing on its knowledge and expertise in delivering innovative piling and ground improvement solutions across all sectors, focussing on providing the solid foundations for buildings of any height, ranging from city skyscrapers to house foundation packages. As an Estimator, you will develop bids and tenders to win work for our business, generating an innovative, challenging ground engineering solution for every bid, maximising our opportunity, and developing a solution that provides added value to the client and generating an accurate cost base for the works based on the Clients requirements. The business requires the most efficient design solution for every tender which is safe to build, will meet the desired quality metrics and comply with the clients delivery requirements. What you'll be doing Other key responsibilities will be: Be accountable to win rotary work, by producing winning solutions, through technical and pricing competence and development of key customer relationships Work with the designer and support the Pe-Construction Manager to price accurate solutions based on Clients requirements, interrogating design options and value solutions Review customers drawings and specifications and prepare accurate costing sheets for materials, labour, and equipment Manage the procurement team to ensure tenders are based on real market quotations Accurately plan and sequence the work based on sound previous experience or with reference to the operational team.
