Job Summary
We are looking for a highly motivated and enthusiastic team player with excellent reception and administrative skills to join the Health Records Team. The successful candidate will be based at Seaton Delaval and will work across multiple sites (Hexham, Wansbeck, North Tyneside) to provide a high‑quality service.
Key Responsibilities
* Receive patients and visitors in reception areas, recording and processing patient activity using NHS computer systems, including Patient Administration System (PAS) and Mediviewer.
* Work in partnership with colleagues in Health Records Hubs, wards and departments across the Trust to deliver a high‑quality service and enhance the patient experience.
* Provide non‑clinical advice to patients, relatives, the public and internal and external agencies.
* Manage physical tasks such as moving and handling flatbeds and trolleys, use stepladders, and stand for long periods in reception areas.
* Work under pressure to meet the needs of the service, including weekends and all bank holidays.
Required Skills and Experience
* Experience working with the general public and demonstrating professionalism at all times.
* Strong reception and administrative skills with good numeracy, literacy and keyboard skills for accurate data capture.
* Knowledge of GDPR and ability to follow the Trust confidentiality policy in line with GDPR.
* Ability to prioritise and organise workload with competing and changing priorities.
* Flexibility to cover various shifts, including weekends and bank holidays.
* Physical ability to lift and move flatbeds, trolleys, and use stepladders.
Additional Information
* The successful candidate will be based at Seaton Delaval but must work at Hexham, Wansbeck and North Tyneside.
* The post holder must be flexible and able to adjust to service requirements.
