PE Global is currently recruiting a Supplier Development Engineer for our global manufacturing client supporting some of the world’s largest mining equipment programmes. This role is based fully onsite in Peterlee with approximately 10% travel. This is an initial 12 month contract position based on site 5 days a week. Pay Rate is £34.30ph PAYE or £46.35ph Umbrella. Responsibilities: Assess supplier quality and ensure materials and components meet manufacturing specifications and regulatory standards. Conduct supplier audits and quality assessments to evaluate manufacturing processes, procedures, and environments. Monitor supplier defect rates and quality metrics, identifying trends and improvement opportunities. Support suppliers in improving performance through process enhancements, quality assurance planning, and process controls. Develop and implement supplier inspection, testing, and evaluation mechanisms. Conduct supplier quality control audits to ensure compliance with organisational and regulatory standards. Work closely with suppliers to identify root causes of quality issues and implement corrective actions. Contribute to supplier capability development to support production of high-performance industrial equipment. Requirements: Bachelor’s degree (or equivalent experience) in Engineering or a related discipline. Experience working within industrial manufacturing environments. Strong understanding of supplier quality, manufacturing processes, and process improvement. Experience with Production Part Approval Process (PPAP) and supplier quality methodologies. Strong problem-solving and analytical skills. Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills. Proficiency with Microsoft 365 tools, particularly Excel and PowerPoint.
