Overview
This role supports the NHS Fife Pharmacy & Medicines Service. No pharmacy experience is required; full training will be provided.
Responsibilities
* Assemble medicine orders and over-label medicines
* Receive goods from suppliers and maintain store stock
* Prepare ward orders and ward top-up
* Answer telephone calls, perform computer work and reception duties
* Assist with the overall support of pharmacy stores
Work Schedule & Location
Based at Victoria Hospital, Kirkcaldy, with required work at Queen Margaret and Victoria Hospital Pharmacy Departments. Shifts vary between 08:00‑18:00 Monday to Friday, and will include weekend and public holiday rota.
Qualifications
Flexibility, hard work, teamwork. Must be physically able to lift and handle medicines, including infusion boxes, and may spend most of the day on feet.
Additional Requirements
* Become a member of the Protection of Vulnerable Groups (PVG) Scheme prior to appointment
* Legal right to work in the UK; either have appropriate visa or be eligible for sponsorship before applying
Agenda for Change Update
As from 1/4/26, the Agenda for Change full‑time working week will reduce from 37 to 36 hours per week; part‑time hours will be reduced pro‑rata. Hourly rate will be increased proportionally.
