About the role:
Marlborough's Specialist Resource Base (Y Galon) supports children from across Cardiff with Severe and Complex Needs. Y Galon comprises of two classes. Our SRB provision is very much at the heart of our school and has an incredible track record of ensuring that every child feels safe, valued, included and supported to be the best that they can be.
You will be joining an experienced, talented and friendly team of three teachers and six teaching assistants who put the children at the heart of everything they do. The post would suit a teaching assistant with a passion for and experience of working with pupils with additional learning needs in either a primary or special school setting. The successful candidate will be required to work 32 hours 30 minutes per week, 39 weeks per year, Monday to Friday, 8.45am - 3.45pm (with a 30-minute lunch break).

Under the Education (Wales) Act 2014, all School Learning Support Workers must be registered with the Education Workforce Council (EWC).

This salary is subject to the Living Wage supplement wef 1st April 2026 which brings pay rates up to £13.45 per hour (scp 3 - 5). This supplement will be reviewed thereafter annually in April. Cardiff Council reserves the right to make any changes to, or removal of, the Living Wage supplement.
