Adexon Fire & Smoke Curtains, part of Cubex (UK) Ltd, designs and manufactures next generation
fire and smoke curtain systems, setting new benchmarks in safety, reliability, and
performance. We operate largely as a specialist subcontractor in the construction industry,
delivering high-quality services and systems to major contractors and developers.
Role Overview
As we scale, we are looking for a skilled, detail and data orientated, and experienced
Management Account to look after all things financial and reporting e.g. forecasting through
to, with our 3 x 2 scenarios (including additional staff and resources required),
planning, budget creation and tracking reporting variances, cashflow forecasting and
tracking, credit control etc. We are looking for someone with a minimum of 5 years
experience who believes they have what it takes to be a key part of a very successful new
business.
Ideally you will also be very IT inclined, able to assess and manage the businesses software
across all departments including researching what and when we should bring in new
software to improve efficiencies meaning greater productivity e.g. Tibr, Simpro (and Simpro
competitors), Planradar, Fieldwire by Hilti, etc. This would include advising on what is best for
the business and rolling it out including training for everyone.
You'll be a key part of the team, ensuring clean, accurate financial records, streamlining
reporting, and helping drive business decisions through insightful analysis. You will be
responsible for managing day-to-day bookkeeping tasks, maintaining accurate records,
ensuring compliance with accounting standards, manage financial operations of the business
including accounts payable and receivable, bank reconciliations, VAT returns, CIS Returns, and
monthly reporting.
Key Responsibilities (as above, plus…)
* Maintain accurate books across all ledgers (sales, purchases, bank, journals)
* Perform regular bank reconciliations and ensure timely month-end close
* Process supplier invoices, match to POs/delivery notes, and process payment runs
* Manage accounts receivable, overdue payments, and credit control
* Prepare and submit VAT and CIS returns, ensuring compliance with Making Tax Digital
* Support payroll input and reconciliation
* Assist in year-end preparations and liaise with external accountants
* Track project-level costs accurately for margin analysis
* Record retentions and variations appropriately
* Liaise with project teams to capture site costs and purchase orders in real time
* Prepare and process expense reports and bank reconciliations
* Maintain up-to-date records of financial data and ensure data integrity
* Collaborate with team members to ensure timely month-end and year-end close
* Provide financial reports and summaries as required including budget tracking and
* financial forecasting
* Respond to financial queries and provide support for audits
* Maintain compliance with company policies and relevant accounting regulations
Requirements
* Essential Skills & Experience
* Deep understanding of CIS and construction financial processes
* Solid grasp of VAT, double-entry bookkeeping, and financial compliance
* Proficient in Excel/ Sheets
* High attention to detail, organised, and deadline-driven
* Strong understanding of accounting principles and practices
* Excellent attention to detail and organizational skills
* Ability to work independently and remotely with minimal supervision
* Strong communication skills, both written and verbal
* Familiarity with remote collaboration tools (e.g., Slack, Zoom, etc.)
Desirable
* Experience with job costing, WIP reports, and project-based accounting
* Familiarity with other Zoho apps (Zoho CRM, Zoho Projects)
* AAT qualified or equivalent bookkeeping certification
* Experience supporting senior management with financial insights
