Job Overview
We are seeking a dedicated and passionate 11+ Tutor to join our educational team, specialising in preparing students for entry to grammar schools in South West Hertfordshire. The ideal candidate will have experience with the 11+ curriculum, including verbal and non-verbal reasoning, English, and maths, and a strong commitment to helping students achieve their academic potential. This role requires excellent communication skills and the ability to engage effectively with children aged 9–11, including those with specific learning needs.

Responsibilities
* Develop and implement personalised lesson plans tailored to each student's strengths and weaknesses in preparation for the 11+ exams
* Tutor students in key 11+ subjects: Verbal Reasoning, Non-Verbal Reasoning, English, and Maths
* Communicate regularly with parents to provide clear updates on progress, exam readiness, and areas for improvement
* Build student confidence and effective study habits, focusing on exam strategies and timed practice
* Create a supportive and engaging learning environment that motivates students
* Adapt teaching methods to accommodate any special educational needs or learning differences
* Monitor progress closely and adjust strategies to maximise exam outcomes
Qualifications
* Previous experience tutoring or teaching children preparing for 11+ exams is highly desirable
* Strong knowledge of the 11+ curriculum and exam formats for grammar schools in Hertfordshire
* Experience or training in SEND is an advantage
* Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written, with the ability to connect with children and parents
* A genuine passion for helping students succeed academically and achieve grammar school entry
* Patience, empathy, and the ability to motivate students through challenging material
* Understanding of child safeguarding is essential; completion of safeguarding courses desirable.

Pay: £20.00-£25.00 per hour
